A Year of Color, Character and Comebacks

If 2024 was the year DOXA streamlined its core offering, 2025 has been the year of confident expansion…

Across new references, limited editions, and strategic retailer collaborations, DOXA has shown it can evolve into a force for innovation without losing sight of its utilitarian roots. From relaunches of cult classics to playful experiments in color and case materials, the DOXA story this year has been one of creative momentum, collector engagement, and a clear commitment to doing things the DOXA way.

As DOXA CEO Jan Edocs states: “We’ve spent this year strengthening who we are as a brand, and our collectors have certainly been timing this moment for a while. In 2026, they can finally stop the clock!”

Let’s take a look at some of the standout moments…

The return of the GMT

One of the most significant moves of the year was the return of the GMT function to the DOXA collection with the new SUB 250T GMT. It marks the first time in nearly two decades that a dual-time-zone complication has featured in a production DOXA model; and collectors took notice. Inspired by the original SUB 750T GMT from 2006, the new version strikes a balance between heritage and modernity, offering a sleek 40mm case, 250m of water resistance, and a skeletonized GMT hand in nine colorways. It’s a genuine tool watch for the travelling diver, and a sign that DOXA is listening to its audience and responding in a way that is delighting fans.

The polished steel SUB 200

At the opposite end of the complication spectrum, a subtle but impactful design refresh to the SUB 200 shows how a single material change can alter a watch’s entire mood. With the launch of a polished steel bezel option, DOXA gives its most accessible diver a touch of summer-ready shine. The bezel’s light-catching finish brings new energy to the SUB 200 line, reinforcing the model’s role as a gateway to the brand while adding a layer of everyday versatility and style.

The big one: SUB 750T relaunch

September saw the return of a true DOXA heavyweight, the SUB 750T. First introduced in 2002 the model has always been defined by its oversized dimensions and serious dive credentials. For 2025, the watch has been re-engineered with a slimmer 11.95mm case profile and launched across all eight of DOXA’s signature colorways. Equipped with a 56-hour power reserve and up to 750 meters of water resistance, the new SUB 750T combines depth-rated performance with wearability, making it the deepest release of the year!

The Clive Cussler tribute

Few names are more synonymous with DOXA than Clive Cussler, the late novelist and explorer whose fictional alter ego Dirk Pitt wore an orange-dialled DOXA SUB. This year, on what would have been Cussler’s 94th birthday, DOXA released a limited-edition SUB 750T Clive Cussler. Produced in a run of just 94 pieces, it features a refined case design, vibrant orange dial, and the NUMA logo at 7:30. It’s a technical and emotional tribute and one that reinforces the real-world roots of DOXA’s dive heritage.

Retailer exclusives that got people talking

DOXA’s commitment to collector-focused editions found powerful expression in this year’s retailer collaborations. From the dusky Caribbean tones of the SUB 200 Dune x Art of Time to the radical Eastern Arabic SUB 250 x Ahmed Seddiqi, these limited runs expand the brand’s visual and cultural vocabulary.

Standouts include:

  • The SUB 300 Carbon Seafoam x Watches of Switzerland, a bold pastel dial inside a featherweight forged carbon case
  • The SUB 250T Afterglow and Gulfshore x Exquisite Timepieces, pink and blue GMT variants that turned heads and sparked conversation
  • The SUB 250 x Ahmed Seddiqi, a richly detailed 75-piece edition with Eastern Arabic numerals, desert tones, and cross-cultural intent
  • The SUB 250T GMT “Great White” Topper Edition a 100-piece, full-lume, white-and-navy tribute to the Farallon Islands, built on the 40mm SUB 250T GMT with custom caseback, bezel “no-deco” scale, and BOR bracelet plus navy FKM strap. A portion of proceeds supports the Greater Farallones Association.

These watches weren’t just design experiments, they were statements of identity, community, and creative freedom.

Dubai Watch Week edition: small batch, big impact

Just 11 pieces were made of the SUB 300β Ceramic Dubai Watch Week 2025 edition, but its impact is larger than the numbers suggest. With its black ceramic case, cherry red dial, and culturally attuned aesthetic, this is a showcase of what happens when material innovation meets meaningful collaboration. The edition is built around the updated SUB 300β platform, combining COSC-certified performance with a sleek, urban-ready silhouette, and proved that DOXA is more than capable of making statements in the contemporary collector space.

A colorful close to the year

If there’s one thing that ties all of this year’s releases together, it’s color. From subtle sunray textures to high-contrast palettes and sand-inspired dials, 2025 was a year where DOXA embraced its visual identity with confidence. Every launch, whether core, collaborative, or commemorative, offers something expressive, wearable, and true to the brand.

With new tools, returning legends, and inventive special editions, 2025 reminds us why DOXA remains one of the most interesting and original names in dive watchmaking.

Here’s to what comes next!
